'Poetry in Music' Event@Clitheroe Jazz Festival

It was great to see so many if the Clitheroe Stanza group at the Poetry in Music event during the Clitheroe Jazz Festival.  It got off to a cracking start with Stanza Poets Phil Burton and the wonderful singing of Stef Portersmith and partner.  Next up was Maureen Fenton and Iris Howden with her wonderful poem recollecting the dancing days of her youth.  After a short break I took to the stage with my poem about my drumming days and my hero Gene Krupa along with Jenny Palmer who gave us four poems directly influenced by jazz.  The mc and trombonist Paul Taylor finished up the evening and we all set off for the pub and a pint.  Job done!
